My wife and I are being sued by the people that live in the house next to us, I will not call them neighbors because of the way they are treating us. I do not want to go into a lot of detail. I will refer to them by there last name. The Haufes have a lot of money and they are harrasing us by filing a cival lawsuite and there lawsuite is filled with lies and twisted facts. They have sued us for more than 15,000 so they could get it in a higher court. We had to get a lawyer because the court said if we did not respond they would get a judgement and a lein could be put against our property. So far we have paid our lawyer aproximatly 10,000 for just about nothing. In our lawyers negotiations for out of court settlement they want us to pay 1300.00 for a fence we did not damage, they had a survey done and there survey says that a six foot section of our retaining wall is from one inch on end to four inches on the other end. We had a surveyor come verify there survey and he showed in that same six foot section that our wall was over by one inch on one end and three inches on the other end. In there settlement offer they want us to pay for another survey because they do not trust there survey. There fence is one inch over on our property by there survey. I could keep typing for ever to explain this case. What I would like to know is what can I do to stop this without giving them what they want.

I am not sure about the giving part, but what you need to do is have a sit down and approach this in the most civilized manner. Obviously the attorney thing is not going anywhere so someone has to be the voice of reason and communicate. Hire a mediator or an arbitrator to oversee the case disputes and help you all come to terms with a reasonable decision.

No. Bankruptcy will be on your credit record for at least 10 years and will wipe away any means for you to obtain credit for a long time...
