Is there a statue of limitation on civil code 47.5? If so, what would it be? What would the complainant be wanting? What is the punitive result? Its the person making the claim looking for money?

Someone has been naughty, haven't they?
Did someone accuse a CA peace officer of doing something improper?
If you do that in CA (and most states these days), the officer can sue you.

It appears a defamation, a very special type of defamation lawsuit is in the works.

So, get ready for a rough and rocky ride, OP, you're about to be sued for accusing some hard working, law abiding LEO for doing his or her job.

You might want to retain an attorney, because this could be very, very costly.

Here, read the law:

47.5. Notwithstanding Section 47, a peace officer may bring an action for defamation against an individual who has filed a complaint
with that officer's employing agency alleging misconduct, criminal conduct, or incompetence, if that complaint is false, the complaint
was made with knowledge that it was false and that it was made with spite, hatred, or ill will. Knowledge that the complaint was false
may be proved by a showing that the complainant had no reasonable grounds to believe the statement was true and that the complainant
exhibited a reckless disregard for ascertaining the truth.
