Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft civil demand if i paid for the item?

I got caught stealing from a store, it was less than 25 dollars and i just ended up buying the item. i signed no papers, no police were called. they gave me a paper about civil demands and i am confused by it. since i just bought the item will i still get a fee?

Civil Demand has nothing to do with purchasing item. Its about the cost of security. However since there was no real theft (you bought item) there "may" be no Civil Demand

is there anyway i can find out soon if i will be getting a letter saying i owe a fee? also do you know how much they typically are? i am from ohio and reading the actual law is so confusing!!

You can call them. Far as cost I suspect yours (if you get one) to be around $200.00 to $300.00

wellll i called the number the guy gave me and they wouldn't tell me anything about the civil demand because they had me down as a ten year old!!! wonderful.

Get the store to correct the error

i had to fax the people a couple of my birth certificate so they would answer my questions. its ridiculous! they wouldnt even explain civil demand to me
