i have been criminally charged for embezzelment.
i am being sued in criminal court with a jury. i will have to use a public defender. since i am guilty - what procedures should i expect.
since i won't have the million dollars being used for when they find me guilty, what happens when i file for bankruptcy.

why would they sue me for such a large sum knowing i will never be able to pay for it - what's the purpose.

they have also filed suit against by husband and his business. because if they find him guilty then they can take the house. do they have to disclose their evidence to us?

I have got to be honest with you - your posting is extremely confusing!!!

Here is what I understood - are you being criminally charged for embezzlement in the amount of $1MM dollars and your husband and his business are also being charged due to association with you? If that is the case, you need an attorney as soon as possible and not consulting in a legal forum!!!

thanks for the advise.
i stole $210,000 and have plead guilty to 6 felony charges. sentencing is in dec.
my civil law suit will commence within the next 6 mths. they are suing me for a million dollars. my criminal attorney has done and filed the preimary paperwork on the civil suit for me. but when i go to court i will be using a public defender. so what i want to know it - what am i to expect in a civil suit with a jury. will they be presenting proof and if so do they have to disclose it to me. thank you

Same process applies as the one you had on your criminal case but now, whomever you stole it from, it trying to recover the money plus all the aggravation you caused with your act. That is why they are going after your husband and his business. I hope you have a good public defender. Good luck to you!
