I have compiled a sizable number of emails from people claiming to be from Blizzard entertainment. They are all phishing scammers and are trying to steal Blizzard online accounts.

I have read accounts of people ending the flood of scam email they recieve by filing and winning a civil suit against the perpatrators. I feel that I have more than enough evidence. I was wondering if anyone actually thinks I can do this and win.

I don't really care about getting some huge amount of money. I just want to stop them from stealing from anyone else. I know a few people who have fallen for this scam and lost accounts they worked on for years.

What do you all think?

Go for it. It's always a great day when someone gets sued!!!

I guess you should give all information about how accounts are lost. Blizzard gives numerous warnings to players about honestly the massive amount of folks attempting to steal accounts from players. Blizzard gives "Free" 10 day trial period to folks so they can see if the game is right for them. This is a one of the few "Free" trials out there. No credit card, bank account etc.. is asked for. Scammers create accounts, once in the game they message folks with a message about their accounts, or they are in broke rules and must go to this site to repair their account. The "Real Player" clicks this link which is a hack site or virus site thus infecting the "Real Player" computer. Then the hacker has all the information to log onto the "Real Player" account. Then the hacker will sell off game items to create "Gold" which in turn is then sold for "Real Money" thru Illegal Sites that offer various discounts for gold in the game. All this is talked about in the game guidelines as being illegal for any player to purchase gold from a outside source. To purchase "Real Player" accounts is also illegal if found out this player account will be banned and deleted.

If the "Real Players" account is hacked then Blizzard will freeze the account and investage it. Once the investion is over Blizzard will return all items, gold or whatever was lost back to the "Real Player". This could take a couple weeks to resolve. Blizzard has been known to provide people who have had their accounts hack with a authorciaor which will help greatly to keep the account secure. A player can purchase this item for around 7.00 and if they don't shame on them as this device will keep their account secure.

How do you hold a company responible for something that the "Real Player" could of prevented? 1st by listening to Blizzard telling "Real Players" everytime they log on NOT to click any outside links? I feel that Blizzard has made every effort to keep the "Real Player" safe.

But hey if you can sue over spilled hot coffee anything is possible.

Most people have no idea what Blizzard is. FYI, it's a company that produces video games, most notably, Diablo - one of the few I've had the pleasure of playing (and sucking some of my life away years ago, lol.) They do make great games. Most have moved from private PC games to online multiplayer games. So you buy the game and also have the ability to get an online account, connecting to Blizzard's servers, to play the game.

If you think you have enough evidence to sue, that's great. But you do need to show how you have been wronged. In this instance, you'll probably need to point to some can spam act. Unfortunately our government prioritizes removing drugs from professional baseball but provide for significant civil penalties if you attempt email fraud to suck the life out of people by sending fraudulent spam, at least not of which I am aware. Blizzard could sue for damages and perhaps they will give you a percentage of what can be recovered on behalf of Blizzard should they choose to use the evidence uncovered to record a judgment. I just hope these people are US based and not in China or Russia... Good luck!
