My husband, age 70, has been charged with class 1 larceny of goods valued at about 250.00. He has no criminal history of any kind. What can he expect when he goes to court? What are the chances of jail time?

His clean record, his advanced age will likely get him sympathy. That'll probably mean probation. He might be suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's. You should have a physician evaluate him. Most people don't start committing crimes at his age.

He needs to talk to a criminal attorney. The attorney will go over his possible options with him. If he can't afford an attorney, he should ask the court if they might appoint one for him.
