I going to be buying a new home however we held off on get an appraisal and the rest of the work for the loan until we came to an agreement with the sellers concerning the inspection. Both parties were at fault for the delay, including the seller's agent who would not relay our questions/ resolutions to the sellers because she assumed their response. Nonetheless, we're nearing closing and it is unlikely that we will close on our agreed date. The sellers have forwarded me a form stating that I will have to pay for their interest, taxes and HOA dues for the days between the "agreed-upon" closing date and the real closing date. As well, they intend on imposing another fee as a late fee assessment. I would like to know if this is legal?

Please respond soon.

I don't think you have to agree, it sounds like they are just asking that you cover those costs. I think if the deal flops, you just lose your earnest money.

Where are you located? If in STL, what community are you buying from?
