I have gone through small claims and received a judgment against a person I did a job for and refused to pay the balance of the agreed amount. I won in court hands down even his counter suit. I was awarded the amount in full plus any cost and also interest. what is my next step. Actualy I need to garnish his bank account. He is retired but owns differant properties. Of which one of that I did the work. If I go through the court to obtain his finance info, wont that just tip him off. I am not having any luck finding any forms I might need to fill out on line either.

Didn't I answer this one back sometime ago? Go to the court and get a garnishment order. The clerk will tell you how. Take it to his bank. They will freeze his account if you have enough identifying information. You do not have to have the account numbers. He has 45 days, here in GA, to file a traverse (basically an objection to the garnishment). If he fails to do so the bank will give you his money up to the amount of the judgment. Here are some instructions from Kettering, Ohio Municipal Court. They should be similar or exactly the same to the ones where ever you are. Call your clerk of court and they will direct you to their website.
