I am in Muskogee, Oklahoma but my question relates to a newspaper in Wathena, Kansas.
My grandparents owned a newspaper in Wathena, Kansas from 1934 to 1959, small-town weekly with a circulation of around 1500. During the time my grandfather wrote a weekly column just on happenings in town, this teenager was seen necking behind the school, someone elses children got into the housepaint and painted everyones bushes and sidewalks blue, someone was sprayed with a skunk while trying to put it in another persons car, etc.
I am collecting, organizing and editing these and was considering building a website. My question relates to the content - is this content owned by the present owners of the newspaper or by our family?
