Collection of legal fees

My jurisdiction is: California

Is there a statute of limitations regarding how long a law firm can attempt to collect on legal fees not paid? If so, is the time based on where the law firm is or where the debtor's place of business or residence is?

There is but it all depends upon the facts. Most people think it runs from the date of the loan but it doesn't. If it's a law firm, they probably are within limits if they file suit and then you can try to assert your defense.
