I work on a vehicle receive unknowing received the wrong parts and installed them into the vehicle and a a week later some of the parts came apart while the vehicle was traveling down the interstate. The vehicle was brought back to the shop and repaired and now my employer is trying to make me pay for the parts after I already fix the vehicle (free labor). Does he in the state of Colorado have any grounds to do this.

I'm not an expert on CO pay laws but I don't believe he can require you to pay for the parts OR to repair the vehicle without pay. Contact the CO DOL for further information.

He can, however, fire you for installing the wrong parts. And that I'm 100% certain of.
