Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Colorado Shoplifting Misdemeanor

I live in the state of colorado, Im 18 years old, and I stole $130 worth of items from STORE NAME. The Loss prevention man approached me as i was walking out and i ran away from him for about a mile. (afraid of losing my job of two years in a different retail store if i was caught). The police caught up to me, arrested me, told me i am permanently banned from STORE NAME, and gave me and a ticket for a court date in about a month. This is my first offense for anything! Im trying to get into nursing school and i cannot have a misdemeanor if i want to get my RN license. I regret stealing more than anything in my entire life and will never ever do it again! Im wondering what is likely to happen in court? and if writing STORE NAME an apology letter is a good idea?

A letter of apology will be used against you in court. I would get an attorney and try to work out a deal with the courts.

You will have a civil demand to pay and will most likely be put into a theft database.
