What are the laws for a common law wife in Iowa per the following---the man is injured & is a parapalegic -- his finance & he opens a joint bank account about 2 years ago -- they each have their own accounts -- he buys a house & the deed is in his name only -- he passes away 2 months after they moved into the house. Does she have any rights to the house & estate & is she responsible for $150,000.00 renovations for the house? The man has adult children & no will.
