Community Property Debt Liability

Is there a way that I cannot be held liable for financial debt incurred by my husband on a house that he bought before he met me? I was told by a housing financial counselor that since Nevada is a community property state I was also responsible for my husband's debts.

You should probably discuss this with a Lawyer. However in some states community property does not include assets or debts aquired before marriage
