Company Closing: Severance and 'Re-Relocation' Pay

OK, long story short. I was recruited by a company 6 months ago from Miami, FL to come and run their West Coast business. While interviewing and hired, I was told the company was financially stable and at no risk of closing. Unfortunately, I did not look at the books.
This company paid for my entire relocation from Miami to Los Angeles.
This week I was called by HR and told that they were closing their doors, and that my last day would be January 30. Until then, 'it is business as usual'.
Since I had only been employed for 6 months, my severance package was only 1 paycheck (also unpaid vacation).
My main concern is whether they should be legally responsible for my 're-relocation' back to Miami.
Lastly, given the situation, does anyone know if the severance package extended is 'legally appropriate'. I know they are not bound to give anything for a regular termination. But these are somewhat unique circumstances.
My company is owned by a large, widely known company.
Any legal advice will be appreciated

No, they would not be responsible for your relocation back to Miami and there is no requirement for them to give you any severence. It is not right but it is not illegal. This is one of the risks you take when you move across the country for a job.
