In 1999 I was sentenced to a 2 year residential drug treatment program with a 3 year suspended prison term. I had a prior prison term in 1989 for posession. I stayed for 9 months and then walked away. A warrant was issued for my arrest for probation violation on 3/14/2001. I have stayed clean and sober since but unfortunately I also stayed with my alcoholic husband who was on the run from parole. In 2002 we were living in New Mexico. He had lost his job again and so I took a job at a liquor store. I know it was stupid but I stole money from the store and we left the state. A warrant was issued for my arrest for embezzlement of cash on 10/15/2002. From there we went to Colorado and needless to say my husband lost his job again. I was working at a bed and breakfast and ended up stealing from them too. Again we left the state and returned to California. A warrant was issued for my arrest on 05/01/2003 for larceny. Shortly after our return to California my husband was arrested and I am happy to say that he is now my ex-husband, however, although since that time I have obeyed all laws, have a good job and have returned to school...I know that I have these things facing me and it is just a matter of time before it all catches up to me. I would rather be proactive and come forward to deal with my reckage than have my life yanked out from under me because I get pulled over for a burnt out tail light or something. I know things don't look good for me. The only things in my favor are that I am clean and sober, obeying all laws now, employed and pay my child support arrears each month. I am majoring in alcohol and drug studies : human services. But I did these things and need to make ammends. Because these warrants are in 3 different states what would be the best way to handle this? I am very frightened but I want this over with. I am almost 46 years old now and I don't want to spend the rest of my life in prison. What kind of sentences am I looking at? Please help.

Find out who the best Criminal Defense attorney is where you live and ask them.

This is not the kind of thing that to save money, you rely on the advice of people you'll never meet and never know their credentials.

Good luck to you!
