Conditional Discharge please help

On March 16th I was pulled over by police they checked my driving record and saw that my license was suspended in NY due to previous tickets that were not paid I was arrested they search my car and found a knife that my fiancé uses for work and they charged me for possession of a weapon which is a misdemeanor. *I spent a night in jail, they released me the next day and asked me to make sure I pay the tickets and return to court on April 29, 2014 9am.*That day they drop the charges to a traffic volation and a conditional charge with one day of community service. I just found out the conditional discharge is another way of saying probation and now my job is in jeorpardy because of it. Because i am licensed with the state i am not allowed to have probration is there anyway i can get this stop this from happening
