I brought a condo back in july of 2009 and i did nt have a laywer present with me at the time of purchase , but when I signed the deed i was told i was buying a property free and clear of any debt , then once i spoke to the condo ass. i was told that there was a debt of 17,000 $ in ass fees . and they have also rented out the property and told me that the fees gave them the right to the property . I dnt know what to do i spent my entire saving for it and have no money for a layweror the fees

Your problem illustrates why it is dangerous to buy a home for $200,000 and try to save a $1,000 by using the seller's attorney.

It doesn't matter what you were told, only what you signed.

You failed to perform your due diligence in accepting the seller's (or real estate agent's) representation of the home being "debt free".

If you want to keep your home, beg or borrow (do not steal) the funds required to retain the assistance and counsel of an experienced real estate attorney.

You can always talk to a couple of attorney's about your problem for free during the initial consultation.

Why not arrange to talk to a couple of local attorneys?

It won't cost you anything to ask a couple of questions, and you might find an attorney who will allow you make payments, while they represent you!
