I don't know if I'm in the right forum so please let me know if there is a better choice for my situation. I have been breeding tropical fish in my condo for 4 yrs now. I have four 50g and 3three 29g tanks. Over a year ago I had a spill that stained ceiling in lower unit. It was worked out by our insurance people. I Also had a small spill that leaked but did no damage. I've sealed a bedroom floor at some expence, using a proffesional flooring co. to keep spill contained and put in water alarms since then on my own without anyone asking me to. Now the Board has decided I can't breed fish or have more than 60gls in tank(s). I've offered to scale it down and shown improvements to avoid more leaks but they say I need to make "proposal" to board, asking for more than 60g, but change is unlikely. I only had the one spill where damage was done, and that over a year ago. Do they have the legal right to tell me I can't breed fish or have more than 60gals in a tank? The floor is concrete so weight isn't their concern. They've brought up danger in earthquake also. Is it likely I can fight this and force a compromise with them?
Thanks,
