Hello,
Issue. Looking for a higher and full time job. There is an offer from a company looking for my current skills but I Signed a confidentiality agreement where it calls the competitors and forces all employees to wait a 2year period before holding a job with another company.
Responsabilities. I have worked in two similar companies prior to signing the confidential agreement. The skills obtained are not related to the production or distribution of the product. My responsabilities is to motivate people to buy my food and cook some kind of appetizer for them to taste the product. Some stocking is done on the shelves of third party stores, such as walmart or costco. The stocking basically is helping the store to put new product out and verify experition dates.
The schedule is distributed weekly to all employees. There is no way to know waht stores or job role will be played from week to week.
If i were to summarize my responsabilities is to offer a food product after cooking it in store and then make sure that the customers buy it. I do not have any involvement in the production of my product other than the sales end. As i mentioned before the there is no schedule i could refer to in order to know what are the companies long or short term objectives.
The company is going through attrition and has allowed some employees to leave as long as they dont work for a competitor. I am not sure how my cooking skills and my interpersonal skills could affect or give any confidential information to another company.
Therefore looking for another job is more challenging since i signed that agreement but at the same time the company has a very changing schedule from week to week that could affect the possibility of finding another job to complement the current one.
The other company currently offering me a job is giving me a full time offer and benefits. It is a nice offer, but i am affraid that they will sue me and lose both of the jobs.
Currently i requested unemployment compensation because i am only working 10 hours per week, which is not enough to pay my bills. The owner of my company refuse to grant it.
If i were to be fired, i could not find a job doing the same type of job and no unemployment, so i do not understand how could i survive or make a living...
Not sure what to do? all the scenarios are not favaorable, quit and no job, or get the new job and then i will be sued... is this a case that i should discuss with a lawyer to completely weigh my options...
