My daughter no longer lives at home but has a past due credit card with a National Bank. They spoke to me and told me her account balance, how much is due now, by what date, gave me a settlement amount on the account, and then told me how much they would accept in payments after the received almost half of the balance, and a reference number. All of this AFTER I asked them to quit calling here because they were harassing me with all of their calls.

What can I do? Can't my daughter this bank for giving me information on her account, which I am not on? I have three of the names I spoke to on her account. Isn't this an invasion of her privacy, and laws against this? I should think after all is said and done, she may not owe them any money, but they may owe her money for release private and confidential information.

What is your opinion and legal advice?

No this will not fall as an invasion of her privacy.
Privacy information misuse, may be.
Advice your daughter to clear things up. Ask her if she had an existing undertakings with the bank.
