Hi, I have a problem, I had talk with an attorney that I had used in the past for things. I had called him on a civil matter, he had asked me who this was against and I told him, he said that there was a conflict of interest. He then called the person that I had spoke to him about and told him what I said. Come to find out now that they are really good friends.

Do I have a leg to stand on with this?

There is no way that the other person would have know that I had talked with this attorney, because no one else knew that I had talked to him but us two....

If he shared client/attorney privileged information with the other person, you can file a complaint against him with the American Bar Association and your state bar association. Make sure that you have evidence to substantiate your case when it comes to what information he shared about you with the conflicting party so the bar can analyze your request and take the appropriate corrective action. Good Luck!

The conflicting party had call and threatened a good friend of mine. The conflicting party was trying to have me arrested for theft and was trying to scare mine friend in to telling him something and told him that he was not going to go after me for the theft but now I got the ball rolling by going to an attorney. I don't know what information was shared in their conversation. So is it legal for the attorney to even call him to let him know that we had spoken?

Since you have no proof of what information was shared your case here is sticky... Call the former attorney and ask him to stop sharing information due to attorney/client privilege.
