confused and unsure

my dilema is this: my husband and i are separated for a year. he is in court fighting for the son we have together. i have a restraining order against him which is going to expire in about 2 months. he has left quite a few boxes of his things in my apartment and is taking quite a bit of space which i could use. i dont know what to do for him to come and get his stuff out of my apartment. for about a year i have begged him many times to come and get it but he doesnt.
i told my lawyer but nothing is being resolved.
should i just take his stuff and put outside and call him and tell him that his things are in the front yard? i dont want to jeopardize my case in court.

Send him a certified letter giving him 30 days to have someone come remove the property or you will consider it abandoned and will depose of it. You aren't required to keep his property. Technically it is in your house and you could just throw it away but that would hurt your case. Give him reasonable notice and then you can do what you want.
