My daughter is 17 and will turn 18 in June. We would like for her to be able to make her own decisions and sign for herself even though she is not 18. We need her to be her own advocate. THis is for a good cause and one that we fully endorse and she also wishes this. It involves a scholarship for college in the fall. All recipients are 18 and older but she meets all the requirements and then some. However, she will still live with us and have financial support from us. Is there a consent form or some type of form that can give her the power to be independent of us for decisions and speaking for herself?

Thank you

Sorry, she is a minor in all US states until she turns 18. You are required to be her voice. The law considers her (and all minors) legal incompetents.

That said, the one solution is for her to marry. But, that's like drinking a gallon of bleach to kill a bacterial infection, it's overkill.

You cannot successfully pull a last minute attempt to defraud others into paying for your daughter college. If she meets ALL the requirements, you should not be here.
