My husband and I purchased my cousin's mobile home in December of last year. In January, we had the mobile home (MH) moved and ever since then we have had problems with the MH Installers. My husband and I signed their contract before the home was moved and paid them 2/3. The rest was to be paid after the installation was complete.

Well, installation was never correctly completed in our opinion. The mobile home is off-level by at least 4 inches. The back block piers are not stable and are in danger of falling down and the back I-beam is bent and we believe this happened during transportation.

I sent her a certified letter basically firing them and requested their business insurance information. Five days later I received her notice of a lien on my property.

Final inspection of the MH will take place in a couple of weeks and the problems I noted above will then be recorded. I plan to contest the lien after the inspection so I will have documented proof against them. Is this the best way to go? Any advice?
