contact after calling in sick

Hi,

I would like to know what the employees rights are for calling in sick? Does the employer have the right (specifically my reporting manager) to call me at home or visit the home on the day that I call in sick? What is the employers legal rights to contact and information regarding the absence?

It is okay for your employer to call you.

As long as FMLA is involved, no law addresses your employer's contact with you, sick or not.

Certainly it could be harassment.

However, the punch line is (and I'll get an email from SJ complaining that I'm spoiling his fun for this) most harassment, including what you describe, is not illegal.
