Our small electrical business did work on a residence nearby. We have the original call made by the homeowner asking for our services and several voice mail messages concerning the job. We have emails from the homeowner promising payment and praising the work that was done, but never paying. The amount is approx.$900.00. Do I have a chance in small claims court with the messages and email promises of payment? I sent the bill January 2009 and then several since than along with several demands for payment. Each letter was followed by a voice message or email promising payment.I have all these documents to bring before the court.
Thank You

Not only do you have a chance, it sounds like you have a fairly good chance. They haven't disputed your bill, they've acknowledged the debt, it's just that they're not paying. The more important question might be, what will happen if you win in small claims? You'll still need to collect on the judgment, and that could prove difficult.

Thank you for the info. I realize it may be difficult but I feel I must pursue this. They did request our services , they to have a small business and know how important paying for the service is.With the current econimy none of us can afford to take a loss. Thank you again
