Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication contributing in Texas

I bought some beer for a party and an under age friend came and picked me up. Five min. later we where pulled over and i was charged with contributing to a minor. The beer wasnt even opened!
My question is, is it illegal for an under age person to transport alcohol if its claimed by someone 21 or older?

If you are 21 and claimed those beers are yours . They can not charged you .If beers aret opened and consumed by your friend while driving .If so it's a different story.
