My friends and I were at a park. A cop came up and caught us smoking marijuana. I said it was mine because I can legally consume it. What I forgot was that there was a minor with us. So I got charged with contributing to deliquency of a minor. My other two friends who were 18 got let off. My friend who is a minor had his parents called. I admitted that I knew he was a minor. The "book" says im facing a fine and or jail time or up to five years probation. I didn't sell him any, I was just supplying the weed for the session. My friend who is a minor just dropped out of high school and got expelled for drinking on campus.
My plan as of now is:
To not tell my parents.
Set the court date.
Plead guilty.
and recieve the penalty.
Is this serious? Will it be that big of an issue? Should I get a lawyer if Im pleading guilty? What penalties am im facing?
