Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft cops took every thing possesion 9/10th of the law

hey i was with a person that was stealing i told her the lady saw her put the stuff back she didn't she let the store anyway cops pulled us over and ask to search the car i told them ok they seen 5 pairs of socks on the seat from anther store and found stuff from the store where she was seen they told me to open the trunk i said it doesn't open they found an old key i had lost and open my trunk the law states that they need reason to look all over the car i gave them permission to search they found what they wanted she admitted it was hers but they still went in the trunk in the trunk there was mixture of 5 finger items and thing that was giving i told the officer what was mine honestly and he told me if i want it get a receipt they even took my little girl tooth brush from the dentist my deodorant and tooth paste if they were just looking for things from one store why were they allowed to take every thing they took her to jail but gave me a ticket and the price on the ticket legally cant be held in little court because its a felony do i say something about it or leave it alone i have no no no criminal back ground she said she took the items she has 2 prior shop lifting charges and went to jail for a bw but they did not get a blue ticket is there anything i can do. and my sister gave me 2 pairs of sandals and some Nikes that was to little for her child i had new pants and shoes the paints or whit with walking marks on the bottom and sit down wrinkles but they was giving how do i prove they mine and i feel that the reason i was charged and she wasn't because they looking to destroy my record should i go to court can i go to court of be banded a thief all my life is receiving stolen goods just as bad and a lot of the stores she went in by herself help I'm lost sad and upset
 
Not to be rude but your post is poorly written. I understand your upset. However it hard to tell what it your asking and why it posted in internal theft section. The search itself was legal (you gave consent) since there were several stolen items the Police can assume all merchandise is stolen. Once you produce reciepts for items they can be returned and removed off stolen item list. You need a Lawyer as if convicted ytou will have a criminal record. Just asking but why are you out with a known shoplifter? By doing so you placed yourself in this situation
 
sorry i seen that afterwards she was my cousin we have the same name and birth date only different years ok i got the ticket she got nothing she said it all was hers except what was giving to me by my sister and in SC any ticket over 1000 is consider a felony but i have to go to the small court how do i find out is it a simple charge or a felony and should i go to court the burden on proofs on the state oh and i couldnt figure out how to post in the right area sorry just need help
 
This is what I gathered from your post.

You and your cousin, who have the exact same name, and birth date, but different birth years, went on a shoplifting spree. You stole from various stores and put some merchandise in the trunk. The last store, an employee saw you steal and called the police. The cops spotted your car and did a traffic stop. The merchandise that the witness said you stole was in the back seat of the car and visible, so the cops searched the entire car even though you told them you lost the key to the trunk.

The cops found the merchandise the lady saw you steal and some merchandise in the trunk that was stolen and that was purchased. The cops confiscated all the merchandise and took your cousin to jail and gave you a ticket for theft. This all occurred in SC.

Is this an accurate description of what happened?

You need an attorney because it sounds like you will be charged with felony theft and felony theft scheme. The stuff they took from you that you paid for, either find you receipt or chalk it up as a loss. You sound like someone who steals frequently (I am not judging you) so just take it as you just got robbed. You win some and you lose some.

You lost big time here.

I agree and will add that it might be wise for both of you to enroll in an Anti Shoplifting course. This can help you with what appears to be a theft problem and could help Judge smile upon your efforts come sentencing time. I generally recommend the shoplifting prevention course given by the NASP.
 
ok i will sign up for the course and chock it up and yes you could call it a spree i never in life been on the wrong side of the law. My 25 years of being a model citizen means nothing now i'm a felon because i made one bad choice. she admitted to everything . and just by asking the question i'm already named a frequent shoplifter. The lady saw her steal. I clearly stated PUT THE STUFF BACK.She got it anyway. He pulled me over saying there was something that happen at the last store.I said yes She was stealing i told her to put the stuff back when i got to the car she was already in there.He said can i search the car. i said sure. He seen some socks and the stuff she had hidden under the seat . she said its mine she didn't know about it. he said you have lied to me 3 times and I'm taking your a@@ to jail. i said sir i didn't know what she told U but i haven't lied. he said oh so U got a clean record and don't have any shoplifting charges. i said yes sir. he said humm we will see about that. i don't want to be labled I'm sorry and i regret it. do i take the charge and be a felony or do i ask for a trial and hope the officer cant come to court.aslo where can i find a cheap lawyer or how do i get legal aid
 
You start calling Lawyer as many offer free consultations. If you cannot afford one ask for Public defender then take what you learned to Public defender when you discuss plans. By the way do not count on cop not showing up
