My dad is in the midst of a messy court battle over a lease agreement right now. He's signing his assets over to trusted members to eliminate his loss in the event of him losing this case. He wants to sign his business (corporation) to me. He would still be running it but it would be under my name. Should I do this?

I would advise your father to ask his attorney about embarking down this path. Why?

Because what your father is attempting to do is called fraud, even in THE GREAT WHITE NORTH.

By the way, it never works.

People who attempt this little trick always get caught.

I suggest you say to your father, "Dad, lets talk to your lawyer about this. I read on the Internet that what you're suggesting might cause you big trouble. I love you, dad. I don't want you to get in trouble. Let's do nothing until we consult with your lawyer, okay?"

Whoa! He definitely doesn't want to do this without talking to his lawyer. This sounds like fraud/illegal.
