Is it right that a family court judge knew a witness due to her contributions to his re-election, he stated his knowledge of the witness was not an issue. Is this common practice or should he have steped down from this case?
 
A casual acquaintance with a party does not mean a judge has to recuse himself. I suspect the judge knew the woman, but she wasn't a very close friend or acquaintance.
 
In addtion to her giving money, the judge also has worked with her several times with her own legal issues

If you believe this was a problem, this is not the forum in which to rectify the matter.

I suggest you speak with your attorney about this.

Otherwise, you are always free to file a complaint against the judge.
