Cosigned with exboyfriend who owes me the down payment

I cosigned a car loan with my exboyfriend and i paid 300.00 toward the down payment..he is not returning that money and he won't be able to keep making the payments on the car. the only reason the first 2 payments were made is because they were automatically deducted from his checking account which left it in the hole. He is leaving the state and quitting his job so he won't be able to make payments on the car...can i repo the car myself and make the payments? My name is on all the paperwork for the car.

Contact your lenders for advice........They would know how best you can handle this in your state.............at least how to salvage what you can of your credit record. Then you can evaluate the best options.......
