I recently got a 120.00 speeding ticket in Dupage County. I'm 22 years old. And I haven't had a ticket or so since around 12-05-2008 or so take a few days.
Well i sent my 120.00 check in the mail along with plea of guilty/court supervision form.
But now when i look at my case on the dupage county website, the case is now closed.
All that is listed is
FINES AND COSTS ASSESSED
FINES AND COSTS ASSESSMENT
PRE-COURT GUILTY PLEA
Since I didnt get a chance to call yet, ill have to wait till monday. My question is, did I receive court supervison, or was straight up just convicted with no supervision? I figured the case would remain open or something with some type of supervision shown in the case data.
Can the county legally do this?
I'm assuming when I call, they will give me the run around that I will have to pay 60-100.00 to open up my case and apply for a court date.
Then go to court so now my fines go to 285.00 and I'm sure the judge will toss in the saftey class to take which is another 60-100.
Honestly i did everything right for court supervision, and I should not have to do all this work and pay even more.
I think this is a illegal move that the county makes on people just so they can make more money.
I have no current cases open of any sort, and my last ticket was in 2008, which I satisfied court supervision for that as well.
There should be no reason or excuse for the county to not give my court supervision without having to pay more then the 120.00 fine.
The funny thing is. I told people the county would try to pull something like this, in order for me to have to go to court and pay more. Makeup some excuse of a mistake in the system and there's nothing they can do. Or that i sent in the wrong form.
Please tell me what you think.
