I recieved a citation from city police in Shepherdstown West Virginia. I was asked to pay a fine or contest it in court. I failed to pay or show up in court. I have now recieved a letter stating that a judge of the Municipal Court of the Corporation of Shepherdstown has issued a "CAPIAS (bench warrant) for my arrest." They gave me some time to show up in court, after which, if I fail to show up, I "will be added to countywide CAPIAS list and subject to arrest on the CAPIAS."
My question is in regard to the scope of that bench warrant. Does the fact that I will be added to a countywide list mean that I will only be subject to arrest in that county? or the whole state? or even in my home state of KY. I was cited for possession of marijuana.
If I fail to meet this demand now, can the fine be increased (will late fees keep accruing)?
Thanks alot.
