Ok so here's the thing...

About two and a half weeks ago I got my first speeding ticket. According to the cop I was going 60 in a 30. The ticket amounted to $201 dollars... yes not that bad concidering. But I am a poor college student and at the time I had no job & no income, and my bank account was below that amount. I contested it and mailed in the ticket with the 'not guilty' checked... thinking my chances were pretty fair having a previously clean driving record, I was hoping to lower the fine and get it taken off (crossing my fingers)...thereby keeping my rates the same. However, I happen to be leaving for school in Moussuri within 4 weeks. There is no way I can come home for a court date. What should I do? Are Continuances an option? what is a "written not guilty" plea - how does it work and would it help me? I'm kinda freaking out about this situation so any input would be helpful.
