Court date question

Apparently my sister got a speeding ticket but used my name as she had a suspended license from a DUI the month before and a warrant out for her arrest. I've gotten 1 ticket in my life and that was as a passenger for no seat belt, 18 years ago. This week I found out my license was suspended due to this ticket so I went to the court house to say it wasn't me, that it was her and they reinstated my license but gave me a court date for next month to state my case. Do I need to hire a lawyer for this or can I fight it myself? What exactly is going to happen in court since I do not want to pay this $300 ticket. The ticket shows her license plate and she signed my name to the ticket. Will they compare signatures on the ticket? If she wants to bring herself down, that's fine but she shouldn't ruin my good name with hers. Thanks for any info!

If your sister is willing to go to court with you and admit that she was driving and presented a false ID then you should be fine. If you don't trust her 100% to follow through and accept responsibility then you should to obtain an attorney.
