Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft court date?

it's been about 5 weeks that i've been charged with burglary/petty theft. i'm 17 soon to be 18. i have received the restitution fees but not the court date. is it possible that they're waiting until i'm 18 to charge me as an adult?

oh, and i also called the DA office. they don't have my file so i'm assuming it's still at the police station.

We have no way to know for sure. Did you get a citation or anything with a case number? Don't post the case number!

No. I was arrested and released later that day without any bail. The police officer said I'd receive it "in a few days in the mail." but it's been 5 weeks.

Then call Police and ask. However I have heard of cases that it took months to get letter

How come it takes so long to receive the letter? By any chance, could they dismiss or drop the charges?

I would not hold my breath on that sorry
