Creating accounts as POA

I am the power of attorney for my mother who has alzheimers and is living in Minnesota with my sister. We recently sold her house here in Nebraska, and the proceeds were deposited with the brokerage that has been handling her assets for years.

The brokerage has lousy rates, and I want to move the money to another institution that I can get a better rate on CDs and Money Market accounts.

Question: How do I register for the new account. Do I need to create it using
'myname as POA for hename'?

Just register it as her name, and put myself on the account as an additional person with access?

Talk to the institution. They have forms for this. Probably you register it in her name, with yourself having access.
