I need to know if it is legal in Ohio to fire someone after several attempts to try to report harassment against a co worker. For 4 months this coworker I was training would yell and say comments of profanity to me when she didn't understand her job duties. I went to my boss several times and try to explain to her that this coworker didn't understand some simple tasks and that was making me work overtime. The day before I was fired the coworker again started saying profanity and accused me of trying to get her fired but when I asked her to stop- the boss thought we were arguing - The boss requested us to speak English so if ever the coworker argued she would understand. So I did speak in English as my boss requested but the coworker did not. I have tried to help the coworker several times with her work and had to practically do the work for her to help her but since she admitted to HR that she has ups and downs she cannot help her frustrations and yelling problems. The day I got fired the boss asked me what was wrong and I explained what happened but then she cut me off and asked the coworker about what happened and the coworker started accusing me of trying to get her fired. I asked my boss if she could bring HR because I was 'nt feeling well and needed air and they took me outside and when I got back they said I was fired.

As you present it I don't see that the firing was illegal. The harassment you describe is not something that is protected.
If you have any recourse it is through the company HR.
