Recently Chase Disney Rewards Visa sent a preapproved credit card offer to my four year old daughter. I called the customer service number to have her information removed from their database and to discover where they obtained her information. After being transferred to a supervisor, I was asked if my family had recently been to Disneyworld. We had. The service rep supervisor told me they get names and data from lists of guests at Disneyworld. I wrote an email to Disney complaining about this and telling them not to sell or give away my childrens names and/or SSNs to anyone. I have had no reply. What should I do?

I'm not saying that Disney didn't sell a name, but there is no place at Disney that collects a SSN.

It's very possible that something got keyed in wrong or slipped through the cracks showing your daughter as an adult instead of a child, but are you sure it was actually pre-approved? Just getting the info from Disney does not give Chase enough info to run a credit check to pre-approve someone. It may have been a simple credit card offer.

On the other side of this, I would get a copy of your daughter's credit reports from the 3 major credit bureaus. It's probably nothing more than a slip up, but anytime something like this happens, it's also a red flag for the possibility of identity theft.

Don't do anything. There are much bigger things in life to worry about. You aren't going to change anything with your actions so focus them somewhere else. Just my opinion.

I disagree. While there's a chance that it's nothing, it's doesn't take that much effort to double check her child's credit report. And if there is a problem and she doesn't do anything, it will be more than enough to worry about.

I'm not saying she shouldn't make sure the child's ID isn't being stolen, she wants to know how to keep Disney from sharing guest info with a credit card offer. Believe me that is more trouble than it is worth.
