You give someone permission to shop with your credit card for things for your house. They add personal items to the bill without asking. What can be done.

You can ask the person to repay you.
Don't expect the miscreant to eagerly agree to repaying you.
Unfortunately, you won't likely prevail in a small claims lawsuit, because you trusted the thief to shop according to your instructions and gave him or her your card.

Now, I have observed (or have been told) in cases similar to yours, where the victim of such shady deeds (that would be you) reported the card stolen to the card issuer and the police.
The card issuer cancelled the card, refunded the charges back to the victim's account, after the victim reported the card a STOLEN to the police.
The miscreant got arrested, charged with a form of fraud, forgery, or theft; and ended up in some very serious criminal troubles.
The victim (that was someone like yourself) laughed about exacting revenge against a thief.

I don't encourage you to do what what I have described above, as it has great risks, and is considered a crime in itself.

Never trust anyone with your money.
