Hello - Thanks for any advice on this.
I dated someone for 6 years, we bought a house together and consolidated about 25000 in credit debt, school loans and house bills into both of our names. We separated over a year ago. When we separated we agreed that we both owed a portion of the debt, that I would make monthly payments and he would pay me through time. Since there is interest associated with the bill I believe that he should have to pay me his portion plus interest since I am paying interest on the total portion over the 5 year term. He is contending he should only pay the principal. What options do I have to ensure he pays his amount plus interest?

You have no options except to go to court and have them determine what the agreement between the two of you actually was. How have prior payments been handled? If you share 50-50 then it would seem that whatever 50% totals is the amount he owed, including interest. If he disagrees, then it's unfortunately time to send a demand letter and go to court. I'd inquire why he seems to be so unreasonable.
