ok so it started with the cell company sprint.. they billed me for 3 months of service i didnt have, they sent me to collections and i told them i wasnt paying for service i didnt have.. they reported negative on my credit then sprint hired 2 more collection agents whom also reported negative on my credit for the same bill is this legal.. also i did try and take it up with sprint but they told me that since i cancelled service there is nothing they can do the account is closed.... can i get some thoughts on this?

The charges are most likely uncollectable.

Your credit report will continue to absorb the hit, however.

Contact the credit bureaus and dispute the report. They may let the first on stick, but the others should go away since it's the same debt. Although they may leave them on there with a note that that it was disputed.

I would also notify your state attorney general's office. They may or may not be able to do something, but it's worth looking into.

If the original debt has been sold to other collection agencies then it will show for each one legitimately. The subsequent entries should reference the previous owner of the account to show they are linked together and not separate debts.
