Hi All,
(UK)
I am not sure if this is the correct place to post HMRC seizures, anyway I will explain my situation: (UK)
Recently, we applied for restoration of our personal goods; the goods consisted of items such as cooking utensils, second-hand clothes, religious books, religious items etc. Unfortunately this request was rejected and the reason given to us is that the items were counterfeit and to restore these goods would infringe intellectual property rights. My questions to ukba/hmrc are how was it determined that ALL these goods are counterfeit? It was clear that the goods were not checked and this makes me suspect that the decision was only based on the names of the importers. How can someone determine that goods are counterfeit by just looking at the names of importers? In this instance we believe we were unfairly treated by ukba/hmrc/post seizure officer involved. Please see attached a decision note from ukba What are our options? Do we have a case? Please advice.
Thanking you all in advance
