Damage To My Truck, Who Is Responsible

I damaged my truck today, driving down an access road from a day care to an auto parts store. It was the first time I had been down this road, and there was a giant hole in the middle of it, where it looks like a sewer line is collapsing, or otherwise damaged. I hit it with my truck extremely hard, and damaged the undercarriage.

Upon further investigation (I did a quick survey of the area, I used to be a surveyor), it appears that the hole falls on the property line of three different properties. One (Wells Fargo) is owned by the business on the property, but the other 2 (an National Tire & Battery, and and strip center) are owned by private leasing companies. I talked with the manager of NTB, and he told me NTB only owns the building, not the property it sits on.

I would like to get reimbersed for the damage done to my truck, but don't know how to go about doing that. Would I have to contact all three of them? Who would be liable? It appears that the damage on the street has been there for a while now, and nothing has been done about it. I have left messages with Wells Fargo, and the person who I believe owns the strip center property. The company that owns the land NTB is on, is based out of New York. Hopefully, I can get some answers from atleast one of these two people on Monday.

Thanks,
-Robert

Also, I've included a couple of pictures of the damage to the road, and of the damage to my truck (that I know about). I've superimposed where I believe the property lines of all three properties intersect (it's close, but probably not exact) on the road damage picture.

Why were you on the road?

Is the road an easement to the daycare?

It might be easier (and quicker) to file
an insurance claim and let the insurance company subrogate against the owner? What you're trying to do may not be possible.

I was travelling from the day care, to an auto parts store, in the same parking lot (atleast, they're connected by roads.

You want to determine who owns the road. Is the road an easement? Who is allowed to use it, if it is an easement?

This is a very difficult case to pursue. Filing an insurance claim is going to be a lot quicker route to have your vehicle repaired.
