I arrived at my house on the 22nd after business hours, so I was unable to sign and return the defects by the turn in date of the 22nd. One of my roomates had possesion of the house by for 7 days prior to this date, but I did not. They gave my key to him, without asking me. The lease says "within seven business days after lessee takes possession of the premises, lessee must notify lessor in writing of any damages." Would this be considered me taking possession of the house if I was not there and did not have my key.
I would like to turn this in, as the house has a lot of damage already present.
