Daycare accessed undisclosed Late Pickup Fees and their clocks are set fast...

My daycare has charged numerous undisclosed late pickup fees throughout the several years my children attended the center. The fees were not disclosed until we noticed our final bill being more than what it should have been. We asked for a detailed bill
and then uncovered these fees. I approached the Director and asked about their late pickup policy and noticed the clocks in her office and the one on her PC were about 10 minutes apart (both fast). That finding prompted me to ask about how they kept track of time and what time keeping source they used and did they have a time sync policy or a method of ensuring their clocks were accurate. I was told they did not have such
a policy. The late pickup fees amount to over $200 spread out over several years. To my knowledge we have not been late picking up our kids nor ever told that we were late or being accessed these fees. Do I have any recourse?

Don't pay it.
If they want to pursue you in small claims then settle it there.
You aren't obligated to pay a dime unless a judge tells you to.
Be done with them and don't argue over it. The next step is theirs to take. There is nothing for you to do.

I think they've already paid the fees.

OP, I would be very surprised if the daycare doesn't have a late fee policy posted somewhere or in the contract you signed. If so, and you've already paid the fees for the last 2 years, I think you're out of luck.

OP is saying the fees were never imposed over the several years but were saved for the final bill. OP never had any knowledge of the late fees until kids were withdrawn. The daycare should have been more timely in collecting the fees.
