A used car dealer sold us a truck and a week later after we have the buyers agreement signed by both parties is saying that we need to come back in due to their mistake and not charging me another $1000.00 dollars. their stating that if I don't come in they are going to have the vehicle repossessed, keep our trade in and the down payment and we will be left with nothing. They are saying we knowingly let this contract be signed knowing that they messed up and we owe them the $1000.00 and until we pay they will not release the bill of sale or forward the registration to dmv. they waited from Thursday at 1 pm till Monday at 3 pm to come to the knowledge of their mistake. Now, I see the money that they are stating that we owe them but we where under the assumption we where just getting a good deal and the numbers on the contract all work out. its just they sold us the car for less then they wanted. What, if anything, do we have to do?

I suggest you read your contracts, and/or take them to an attorney for assistance.
Don't post your private information online, whatever you do.
More than likely, the dealer is a scammer, and probably right.
They often do people this way, set them up, and steal more money form them.

You can also contact your state's attorney general and file a complaint.

Be advised, they often help, but it takes days, even weeks.

In some NY cities, your city government has such assistance.
Call your city hall and ask.

Good luck.
