I was contacted by a recovery agency say that I owed money for a payday loan that I never received. We went back and forth over the phone for at least two weeks until they finally told me that they would no longer try to collect they would just put it on my credit to try and force me to pay. They also stated that they would not provide proof that I received this loan that I had to prove it. I have no problem proving I never received the loan I just need a date as to when the supposed loan was deposited so I may request the statement from the bank, however they refused this date. I asked what I would need to do to head this off and they told me to sue the loan company. I spoke with the loan company and they say that they have no information on me at all. I'm really at a loss here and not sure what to do.

It's a scam. It's a very evil scam. They scare you into giving them money you don't owe. They operate outside the US. Dint pay anything, and for goodness sakes, don't reveal any personal information to these crooks. They'll clean you out. Stop communicating with them.

Agreed. Also monitor your credit reports. If anything shows up that doesn't belong then use the dispute process through the credit reporting agency. The company claiming the debt will have to provide proof or the entry will be removed.
Don't communicate directly with the debt collectors anymore.
